Thank you for your interest in Caldwell-Trouette General Contractors, Inc. We are a professional, high quality firm that is dedicated to performing service in the remodeling/building industry for residential and commercial work. Here are some common construction questions we are asked...

1) How does your estimating process work?

Our 1st meeting with a client for review of job site and scope of work and estimate presentation is done for you at no charge. There is no charge for a written proposal, however under some circumstances, meetings and design consultations, job reviews, and sub-contractor consultations will be billed at an hourly rate. This is invoiced on a weekly basis or as job dictates.

2) Do you always work under a fixed fee contract?

We have performed many jobs under a "Time and Materials" contract, however, we will always submit a budget outline before work starts. And many of our jobs are done on a fixed fee contract, with any change orders, additions, deletions on a owner approved order form.

3) Can the owner do some hands on work, or purchase some materials directly?

At Caldwell/Trouette, we love to see owner involement, and in almost every case, the nature of remodeling dictates that the owner be involved to at least some extent. We are very flexible, and we recognize that every job is different; we can work alongside our clients, or achieve a "turn key project".

4) How does your billing work?

On a "time and materials" project, we bill every two weeks, on a fixed fee contract, we have a written payment schedule, that coincides with a performance work schedule.

5) Does Caldwell/Trouette do all the work themselves?

Every job is different, on smaller jobs, we can do all the work "in house", on bigger projects, we may employee any number of our quality sub-contractors.

6) How long will it take to get a bid?

Anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks, depending on the size of the project.

7) Do you have a warranty?

On work preformed by Caldwell/Trouette, we offer a five-year warranty on all parts and labor. Owner purchased materials, and sub-contractors hired directly by the homeowner, are excluded in this warranty.

8) Do you have references? Can we see some of your work?

After our first meeting, we will provide the homeowner with at least twenty references. At Caldwell/Trouette, we work hard to have very satisfied customers, and many of our past clients are happy to let us show show off our work to potential clients.
